Building Has Begun: A New Chapter for Joyful Hearts Home and Care

There is encouraging progress to report on the next phase of the Joyful Hearts Home and Care expansion in Kenya. As many supporters know, Joyful Hearts recently purchased new acreage with a vision to develop multiple buildings that will allow them to care for more children, expand educational opportunities, and establish a sustainable long-term home for the future.

Work on the new site has officially begun.

One of the first and most important steps has been the drilling of a water well. Access to clean, reliable water is foundational, not only for the construction process, but also for the long-term daily needs of the children and staff who will one day live and learn on the property.

To protect the land and the materials being delivered, Joyful Hearts has also put up a temporary structure for a security officer, who is now stationed on the site. This early security presence is essential, as building materials can be vulnerable if left unattended. Having someone assigned to the land allows construction to move forward responsibly and safely.

In addition, a small temporary toilet structure has been constructed for use during the building phase. While simple, this is a necessary step that enables workers to remain on-site and continue progress without interruption.

Joyful Hearts has also begun supplying and staging construction materials on the property, ensuring that essential resources are already in place as they prepare for the next phases of building the school and additional facilities.

These early steps may not yet look like finished buildings, but they represent meaningful forward movement. Each action helps lay the groundwork for what this land is becoming: a place of safety, education, care, and long-term hope for children who need it most.

Chris White Ministries is grateful to support and share in the work Joyful Hearts Home and Care is doing, and we look forward to providing continued updates as construction progresses.
